about
I wrote this sometime around 2021 or early '22.
Guitar, bass and drums recorded live at Grant's studio, Bombora, in Lennox Head followed by the vocals. Mia's vocals recorded at my place in Wilson's ck. I introduced the song to her when we were getting things together for a performance we were sharing at a little festival at the Mullum Community Gardens. I wanted to take the opportunity to ask her to sing with me on something, and this was the first song that came to mind. I gave her a few lines and she bloomified it. Charles later laid down congas.
lyrics
Bringing back to home again how it is I tend
in the morning time
to my dawing mind
I keep getting pulled away
from this place I need to stay
giving time to what here grows
Coming back to where it is that we tap the bliss
in the morning time
sun become my mind
I get sunken by the way
we have lost our sense of play
I hear that you feel it too
So I'm searching for a passage to our garden's wealth
That I know is known in sharing why it is we come
And I'm learning to be open to what life issues
To the birds of my callings and all of nature's news
Coming back to where it is that we tap the bliss
in the morning time
Sun become our mind
Getting up upon the way
where our sense of love and play
finds us with the garden's soul
Looking forward to a time we can meet again and share a bowl of fruit
and be pointing out the shoots
That are rising to the sun in these garden's we begun
In our thoughts so long ago
That are rising to the sun in these garden's we begun
In our love so long ago
